The Mily Way - Get Your Orgone On is a project Puntar has been
exploring since 2009 by combining seemingly disparate elements, the
Orgone Accumulator, the disco floor and the mushroom garden, each
a conduit between reality and fantasy that offer the opportunity to loose
oneself in the hallucinatory reverie brought on by utopian dreams,
pulsing lights and the promise of supernatural phenomena.

“From discreet sculptural works to full-scale
modular installations, my work examines various frontiers
from the living room to outer space. The Milky Way - Get Your Orgone
On - ”Eat It” focuses on my ongoing exploration and attraction to
mushrooms. From their often erotic suggestive appearances and
intersexual genetics to their stunningly complex immune systems that
may hold the cure to countless human illnesses and enviornemental
toxins - mushrooms live up to their magical mythology.
Previous work envisioned a world of post-apocalyptic human interaction
with design, erasing the boundaries between the manufactured and the
natural. But after a series of global catastrophes from wars to the great
recession and personal challenges I felt the need to re-examine my
relationship to the present and concluded that the apocalypse is now!
I had to take a step back.
Tapping into my original impetus to be an artist and the belief that art can,
perhaps gradually, transform the world; I searched for moments of utopia
both current and past of extreme human upheaval. Elements of Wilhelm
Reich’s post WWII Orgone inventions; Gerit Rietvelds post WWII
furniture designs, the discos of the 1970s and 80s and current medical
research into mushroom immunology are combined into my current series
of sculptures, installations, and events “The Milky Way.. Get Your Orgone
On”.
